Swa-Rai Top 5 Picks: Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2013 #NYFW
Last month, I attended Rebecca Minkoff’s Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week Show. Inspired by the moon and Astronaut Neil Armstrong, Minkoff created a collection full of color, leather and patterns as well as structured dresses and blouses. The collection also contained playful novelty tees, pointy heels and my all time favorite leather pants. NYFW: LaQuan Smith Fall 2013 Presentation
I’ve decided instead of swamping you with NYFW posts, I will sprinkle them in here and there. One presentation that I got to attend while in New York was LaQuan Smith! You may know LaQuan for dressing celebrities such as Cassie, Adrienne Bailon, Selita Eubanks, Tyra Banks and Lady Gaga. The Daily Front Row Magazine Celebrates Turning 10 During Fashion Week!
During New York Fashion Week, The Daily Magazine celebrated turning 10 with a fashion packed week full of fun events! The Daily Magazine kicked off the weekend with a Daily Magazine 10 Years of Covers Exhibition hosted at the Hudson! Over 40 covers were displayed during the exhibition! The exhibition was so beautiful with past covers being displayed throughout the lounge. How gorgeous was the cake? The custom 10th anniversary cake was created by celebrity chef Ron Ben-Israel. ANTM Isis King Fall 2013 NYFW Presentation: The Goldest Winter Ever
This past New York Fashion Week, Isis King hosted her very first fashion presentation entitled: The Goldest Winter Ever. You may remember Isis as the transgender model who competed on Cycle 11 and 17 of American’s Next Top Model. Well she is stepping out on her own and showing the world what she is made of. NYFW: A Day of Glam Event with Glam Network
Besides going to Fashion Shows, one thing I love about going to New York is for the events! I usually go a day or two before Fashion Week begins to either attend conferences or attend Glam Media’s awesome events! This visit was no different! It’s Official, Got My Press Credentials: Swa-Rai is Heading Back to NY for NYFW! After applying several times and being declined, mama has finally been approved and I couldn’t be any happier! Getting press credentials to NYFW was like getting your teeth pulled with no Novocaine but I was determined to get them! So, I will once again be heading to my 2nd Favorite City!!!

NYFW Event: Birchbox Sample Stop
During my visit to New York for NYFW, I got a chance to catch up with one of my favorite beauty brands, Birchbox! I attended the Birchbox Sample Stop where guests got a chance to go inside a life-size simulation of a Birchbox! Check out the Birchbox employee preparing Birchboxes!! Each guest got a chance to pick 5 samples for their Birchbox. Once it was wrapped up were were given these super cute bags for our box!
