The Joys of Having a Silbing

Though the boychild is my only child, he has an older brother on his father side. He often asks me when I’m having another child and the answer is always never. While I won’t be having any more kids, I’m glad that he has an older brother he can look up to and chase behind. To say he’s obsessed with his older brother is an understatement. It’s funny to me how he tries to emulate his brother in everything he does. He’s obsessed now but I’m sure as he gets older he will grow to be his own person but in the meantime I’ll enjoy him growing up with his older brother.

Growing up it was always the opposite for me, I had 3 other siblings but I’ve always acted like an only child. I guess you can say I spent my childhood helping raising them so when they got older everything was all about me. It’s always funny to me when people ask me if I’m an only child because I know I act like one. In reality it’s a whole tribe of us, which is probably one of the many reasons I don’t want to have a bunch of kids myself. Sometimes I feel sorry for my one and only but then I remember he has the older brother, so in the meantime I let him watch programing that discuss sibling relationships on Netflix. I’m sorry but that will just have to do right now…lol
