Check Out My Beauty Segment on @WGNNews

On Wednesday, I got a chance to do another fun beauty segment on WGN News. The segment featured DIY Tips and products on achieving a faux glow. I love doing news segments, they give me a chance to share some of the awesome products that I’ve tried. I do all the work so you don’t have to.

Below are a few fun pics from yesterday!

Raijean’s Tips:

Before applying any self tanners, make sure you’re starting off with freshly exfoliated skin. Exfoliating eliminates dead skin cells and dry skin so tanner goes on evenly.  You can make a scrub at home. Mix 1 part coconut oil with 2 parts of granulated sugar for a DIY scrub.  Apply it to your DRY body in a circular motion and then rinse it off.  The scrub can be stored in any leftover jars you have around the house.

You should actually moisturize before AND after applying a self tanner to hydrate skin, which prevents the tan from flaking.

When applying you want to start at the bottom of your body and work your way up – save your arms for last to make sure the tanner doesn’t smudge when you try to apply on other body parts. and take your time applying and drying the product.  Let it dry for at least 3-5 minutes before getting dressed.

Drink water to keep the skin hydrated. If you don’t like the taste of plain water, you can jazz it up by infusing a flavor into it.  I like lemons because the vitamin C purges toxic materials from your blood to keep your skin clear and radiant. Cut some up and let the water sit over night in a pitcher so you have enough to get through the entire next day.

Before Bed
Apply a body balm that will penetrate deep into your skin while you’re sleeping – It keeps the glow looking rich and uniform.
