As you guys know this past Friday was Go Red for Women. I was excited that I had been asked to speak to a group of ladies on behalf of the American Heart Association. I had a dress that was sent to me from Chic and Curvy Boutique, I had been dying to wear. So, I figured what better time than the present. I pulled out my dress, added some of my favorite red accessories and headed out for my speaking engagement.
I love peplum dresses, I feel like they work on all body types and the leather adds a little edge to an otherwise regular dress. To give it a little more glitz and glamour, I paired it with my statement necklace from ShopBop (c/o) and shoes from ShoeDazzle(c/o).
I started off with a bun then some how it fell in the middle of my fake photoshoot so I went with it. I still wanted just a little more sparkle so I had to add my limited edition Coach Sequin purse, one of my prized possession! I love this purse and this purse loves me! When I Go Red, I even wear red hair, that’s just how I do.
I even wore Mac’s M.A.C Red lipstick for the first time and I loved it…
Overall, it was a great night! Getting to share my experience with heart disease is something I was born to do. I’m just happy that people are willing to listen and use my story as a reason to change their own lives. While Go Red has come and gone, don’t forget the February is heart health awareness month. Make sure you take the time to educate yourself about heart disease as it is the Number 1 killer of women. Just think about this heart disease kills more women then the top 4 cancers combined. Just something to think about, take care of your heart.
