Travel: 2013 Family Forward Retreat at Universal Studios PT. 1

Last week, the boychild and I along with Danyelle (CubicleChick.com) and her chicklet headed to Orlando, Florida to attend the 2013 Family Forward Retreat held at Universal Studios. This was the first time the boychild would get a chance to attend a conference with me and he was so excited;  and what an awesome time we had. Unlike other conferences, Family Forward was about spending quality time with the family. Most conferences usually focus on networking and meeting new people but this conference was unlike any of the many conferences I’ve attended in the past. Family Forward was such a cool concept that I’m glad the boychild and I had the opportunity to go.

We started off the night with an opening kickoff and welcome event.

Here we got a chance to play dress up, take pics and meet some of our favorite Universal Studio Characters.1157651_10201001715339343_269093668_n

We even participated in a few games that allowed families to get to know the other families in attendance. The boychild loved this game, it was fun watching the other kids get so into the game.

He truly had a good time…

Can you see how happy he is?1185416_10153081492590538_1317735908_nThen it was my turn to get excited when Woody the Woodpecker and Winnie came in, Woody the Woopecker was truly one of my favorite cartoons from my childhood. It’s so funny how the boychild has started watching this same show.

After the meet and greet, we headed over to Islands of Adventure for some more fun! Stay tuned tomorrow to see what other adventures the family got into… I don’t want to make you guys jealous in just one post….lol

If you are looking for a fun event for the entire family, I definitely recommend looking into attending the next Family Forward Event. You definitely get a lot of bang for your buck and it’s an experience the kids will remember for the rest of their life. To learn more about Family Forward go here.
