Swa-Rai Mommy: Five Midwest Water Parks to Take the Kids this Summer

The boychild has become obsessed with going on vacations! I don’t know what exactly he needs a vacation from when I pay and take of everything but I guess. My grandmother told me when I was pregnant that my child was going to be born with a suitcase because I didn’t know how to sit down. I can’t help but laugh because what she said was true. I traveled a lot when I was pregnant, I don’t like the idea of sitting in one place too long and I guess the boychild has now inherited these same traits.  I’ve been researching family friendly places to take the boychild and I came up with these resorts for your next family vacation.

  • Willderness Resort (Wisconsin)- I absolutely love the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin. This family friendly resort offers the option to rent condos, villas or cabins. My personal favorite is the cabin! I’ve stayed in the 3 bedroom cabin and it came complete with a grill, fireplace, fully functioning kitchen and more. I’ve never been with the boychild so this may be our next adventure. They now have the all new Bearfoot Island Sprayground, perfect for the kiddos to have fun and get wet.

  • Magic Waters (Rockford, IL)-I’ve always wanted to go to Magic Waters! I don’t know why I haven’t been yet but now that I have the boychild, what better time than now! They have water rides for kids of all ages including the big kids adults. They also have private cabanas and bungalows to rent if you are looking for something a little more private.

Indiana Beach not only has rides but they also have a RV Camping Ground, tent camping and cabin rentals. With tons of family rides this park is definitely high on my list.

Perhaps what I like the most is the park doesn’t nickel and dime you. Admission price includes admission to both parks for one price, free parking, free soft drinks, free sunscreen, free use of inner tubes plus free Wi-Fi. I love this place already! With accolades such as #1 Wooden Roller Coaster on the Planet is in Indiana? And guess what-Indiana is also home to the World’s #1 Cleanest Theme Park, this park is definitely on my to do list.

The interactive Buccaneer Bay thrills and excites children of all ages—especially the 1000 gallon dumping bucket! This looks like such a fun water park! It’s nice when you can find a water park combined with an amusement park. That way there is something for the whole family to enjoy!
