Movie Review: Oblivion

oblivion movie posterEarlier today, I got a chance to go and see Oblivion starring Tom Cruise. Oblivion based in the year 2077, told the story of Earth as we currently know it today fast forwarded 70 years in the future. While remnants of the old Earth remained, Earth had won the war but was mostly destroyed as a result. Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) unable to let go memories of the past and what it was like when living on Earth was fun, was determined to fight for the memories he held in his heart. While I enjoyed the storyline and the acting, Oblivion started off very slow. If you aren’t into science fiction films this movie may not be for you. I will say that the imagery of this film was nothing short of amazing. In my opinion left more questions than answers for me, there were things in the movie I wished they had expounded on a little more but overall I did like the movie. Oblivion hit movie theaters today, so if you are looking for something to go see, go check out Oblivion and let me know what your thoughts are. I give Oblivion 3 out of 5 stars.
