Are Your Hair Extensions Dry or Tangled? Try This!

I will be the first to admit that I don’t always brush or comb through my hair extensions properly. My days usually consist of getting the boychild off to school, then sitting at my computer for hours on end updating my blog. Most days, I don’t comb my hair unless I’m going to an event or handling business. My sister always gets on me for not taking better care of my extensions but I never listen. Well, if you don’t brush/comb your hair on a regular basis then you know what happens! Your hair/extensions tend to become frizzy and tangled.

IMG_2248 I know, I’m not the only one. I believe in wearing quality extensions so my hair never tangles to bad or gets too frizzy but I still have to work to make sure the hair maintains its natural luster. While the quality of hair is important, equally as important are the products that your put on your extensions. I try not to wear products that are oily or will weigh my hair down.

While in my beauty closet of goodies: I decided I would try the Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter Moisturizer, I received at an event some time ago. At first I was leery about putting it on my extension because I didn’t want my hair to become greasy! And we all know there is nothing worst than a greasy weave…lol

IMG_2376IMG_2377 IMG_2381To my surprise it worked like a charm! My extensions weren’t oily and the product was fairly light. All I did was take a paddle brush to my hair and my extensions were smooth in a matter of minutes.

Ignore the dumb expression, it was early in the morning…lol

I used Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter Moisturizer on both my natural hair and my extensions. I have a partial weave so my hair is out in the top and the back.

Pros:

  • Works great on natural hair and extensions
  • Not Greasy
  • Lightweight, doesn’t wear hair down
  • Light Scent
  • Retails for less than $7
  • Can be used daily

Cons:

  • none

If you are looking for an inexpensive product to help maintain your natural hair as well as your extensions, I highly recommend this product.

Hi, Wow. What a difference in the before and after. I was wondering if you put this on wet or dry hair. Can I assume you did it on dry hair?

  2. Love the colour of your hair extensions, they give a really dramatic look :-) It can be difficult the remember to keep your extensions detangled…search on Google for a ‘tangle teezer’ – a hairbrush that is really good for quickly getting out tangles.
