As you guys know, I’m here in New York for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week! Some of my Pre-Fashion Week activities included attending various events; one of them was the launch of SoftSheen Carson’s New Optimum AMLA Legend Haircare Relaxer and Maintenance Line. The event held at Aire Ancient Baths in Tribeca was a pretty swanky affair hosted by RHOA’s Cynthia Bailey. Celebrity Hairstylist Johnny Wright, perhaps known most for giving First Lady Michelle OBama bangs was on hand to talk about how he works with SoftSheen and the AMLA Legend Brand.
What I like most about the AMLA collection is that it can be used on relaxed and natural hair! It seems like these days haircare lines have been creating lines for either/or; it was refreshing to see a line that can be used by all hair types. I also like the fact that the AMLA Legend Relaxer doesn’t contain Lye and it doesn’t smell like perm. I hate that chemical smell, you won’t get that with this collection.
The Dr. was there to discuss the many uses of AMLA, from using it on your hair to putting it on your skin; you can even eat AMLA. AMLA has been used by Indians for decades and since we are constantly buying their hair (weave, extensions) it’s about time we learned some of their hair secrets.
Celebrity Hairstylist Johnny Wright came on stage to discuss how everyone can use this collection! We were shown models with different hair types and how AMLA Legend worked for their hair type: from natural to relaxed and color-treated hair. Wright who has been doing the First Lady’s hair exclusively for over 4 years, knows a thing or 2 about hair!
Now, lets talk about how swanky Aire Ancient Baths is!!! I swear this place is absolutely beautiful! It’s a top rated spa in the Tribeca area and was the perfect setting for a product launch! Thanks guys for the gift card, I can’t wait to come back and try it!
