Snitch stars Dwayne Johnson( John Matthews), as a father whose love for his son pushes him to do things most parents would never dream of. John Matthews is forced to take a walk on the dark side in order to help his son who had been set up in a drug deal. Terrified at the possibility of his son doing hard time for a crime he didn’t commit, Matthews makes a deal with the DEA to help bring the bad guys down.
Part drama, part action, Snitch kept you on the edge of your seat rooting for the good guy.
Snitch based on true events, had me questioning what parent would be crazy enough to deal with the Cartel and possibly lose their life for their son. Although, I question if these events actually happened in real life! I can’t see the DEA allowing a civilian go undecover, but hey it made for an entertaining storyline. Sometimes there are no limits to what a parent would do for their son.
Finally, Johnson stars in a movie where you get to see the softer side of The Rock. While Dwayne Johnson is still coming into his own as an actor, I do think this movie was a good step for is career. Will he get an Oscar for the role? No, but at least he is starting to show some diversity in his roles.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Snitch. It was definitely an entertaining film.
I give Snitch a 3 1/2 out of 4 stars!
