A few weeks ago USA Network dropped by Chicago to launch their Character Project short film series at the Hancock Building on Michigan Ave.
I love watching short films so when I got the invite to come and check out some of the short films, I immediately took them up on their offer.
USA Network sent over a car to pick up me and the lil sis and off we went…
If you watch USA Network than I’m sure you are already familiar their “Characters Welcome” theme well these films are an extension of that. The goal behind Character Project is to “explore everyday people from all walks of life, who makes this country unique”.
As soon as we arrived at the Hancock Building we saw the bright green trailers and instantly got excited!
So I’m sure you are wondering what made watching these films any different from seeing any other movie?? Right?
The cool thing about seeing these films was the fact that USA Network shipped in a state-of-the-art, stylized screening capsule!
The capsules were pretty cool if I may say so myself..
The lil sis and I decided to watch the Dude & Fickle…
Took the snapshot below, while we waited for our turn…
Here’s a brief synopsis of Fickle:
In this hilarious look at modern romance, a young woman relives twelve failed love affairs, all in one dizzying morning. As her ex-partners flit in and out of her life in one unbroken shot, each interaction shows signs of the relationships’ demise, capturing the humor, hope, and disappointment that the search for love so often brings.
What I love most about the films were even though they were short they had complete and original story lines and they truly reflected everyday people.
