Events: 2011 WingFest

So, apparently I have been living under a rock for the last 12 years…

I did not know that Chicago had its own Wingfest!

So, apparently I have been living under a rock for the last 12 years…

I did not know that Chicago had its own WingFest!

This was my 1st year covering the event and I must say an event it was! My camera man and I arrived just before the storm(and by storm I mean the people waiting outside to get in);  we were able to walk around and see the participating restaurants and the different type of wings they brought to the competition.

There were wings there to fit everyones taste from Hot wings, BBQ wings to Strawberry wings and Coca-Cola flavored wings.

There were a total of 4 categories Mild, BBQ, Exotic and Hot; each of the 20 restaurants had to bring 2000 wings from 2 of the 4 categories…

Now that’s a lot of wings!!

When the clock struck 1pm the auditorium was complete madness as tons of hungry patrons ascended upon the 2011 WingFest…

Apparently the veterans of the WingFest were smart and brought their own tupperware, as this event was an all you can eat affair.

There were a total of 1500 tickets for sale and all 1500 were sold out…

The WingFest was tons of fun, they even had a wing eating competition for men and women.

Here I am with the women’s champ!

If I remember correctly she ate 55 wings in less than 3 minutes!

The guys below really got in the spirit as they dressed up for this years fest!

Took time out to pose with the singer from the band!

Lastly, I had to get a picture with Matt, he handled all the promotion and marketing for the event.

Great job on executing this years fest!!
